My name is Eric VanWieren. I am a technology enthusiast living in the Inland Northwest of the United States.
A bit about me
Been working in the computer industry for greater than 15 years. Over that time I have worn more hats than I care to admit. This includes everything from System Engineering, DevOps, Software Development, and Management. From a work perspective, I am currently a Director of Software Engineering where I get to apply the years of experience I have, both good and bad, to try and help move things forward.
About the name Codex
Codex and more specifically codex.org is a domain that I purchased in early 2000. I like the more ancient meaning of the term, and have nothing to do with the AI agent of the same name. For me the name has two ways of looking at it. One is as codex. There are a few definitions that stand out:
- an ancient book that was written by hand
- an ancient book made of stacked, hand-written pages
- a collection or digest of laws; a code
